2024 MN State Junior Championship

Smallbore Rifle Indoor 4-Position
NRA Registered

March 22^nd and 23^rd 2024

March 22^nd match will start at 7:00 PM.
March 23^rd match will start at 9:00 AM.

Eligibility

MN residents (juniors) must be members of the MN Rifle & Revolver Association.

Course of Fire

All matches will be shot in a relay format. A relay will shoot Prone, then B relay, and C relay if necessary. This will be repeated for the remaining standing through kneeling positions. Iron sights required for all junior shooters.

Match 1 10 shots -- Prone – slow fire (10 minute time period)

Match 2 10 shots -- Standing – slow fire (15 minute time period)

Match 3 10 shots -- Sitting – slow fire (10 minute time period)

Match 4 10 shots -- Kneeling – slow fire (10 minute time period)

Match 5 Accumulated total of matches 1 through 4 for aggregate winner.

Target

A17 NRA target

Junior Team shooters must be designated before shooting in tournament.
Juniors’ match scores will be their team score.

No coaching will be allowed for any juniors while on the firing line.

First match starting at approximately 12:30 PM on Saturday, March 23^rd.

Eligibility

MN residents must be members of the MN Rifle & Revolver Association.

Course of Fire

All matches will be shot in a relay format. A relay will shoot Prone, then B relay, and C relay if necessary. This will be repeated for the remaining standing through kneeling positions.

Match 1 20 shots -- Prone slow fire (20 minute time period)

Match 2 20 shots -- Standing – slow fire (30 minute time period)

Match 3 20 shots -- Sitting – slow fire (20 minute time period)

Match 4 20 shots -- Kneeling – slow fire (20 minute time period)

Match 5 Accumulated total of matches 1 through 4 for aggregate winner.

A17 NRA target

Team matches will be set up on the range after each day’s individual matches are completed and scores are posted.

Tournament Entry Fees

Registration: $ 10.00
Junior Tournament: $4.00 per matches 1 thru 4
Open Tournament: $5.00 per matches 1 thru 4
No fee for match 5 (aggregate)
4-Man Team: $6.00 per team

Challenges

$2.00 challenge fee will be charged each challenge and refunded if challenge is justified. A challenge must be made within 30 minutes from when scores are posted.

Rules

All current NRA smallbore rules will be applied at this tournament. All guns not currently in use must have an empty chamber indicator in gun and be removed from shooting range. Gun rack provided for storing guns. Eye and ear protection required on range.

Awards

Junior Tournament – Trophies or medals will be awarded to the first four placings in each Match with an aggregate winner for the championship match.

Open Tournament – Awards will be NRA points. NRA Classification will determine the class you compete in. If the minimum of five shooters in a classification is not met, the shooters will be moved up one classification. A minimum of 20 shooters will be required in tournament in order to have NRA awards points given out.

Match Payment and Entry

Please make checks payable to the Fergus Falls Rifle and Pistol Club (FFRPC) for match registration. Please mail all entries and payment to Gary Boettger (see address below).

Pre-registration is encouraged in order to guarantee a shooting point.

Competitor Number Assignments

Competitor numbers (firing positions) will be assigned upon registration. NRA classification cards must be shown before a competitor number is issued. A MRRA (MN Rifle & Revolver Association) membership is required for both Junior and Open Championship matches. A junior membership in MRRA is free and may be done online prior to the tournament.

Classifications

An NRA classification card is required and must be presented at registration time. If you do not have an NRA classification card, you must prove your current skill level using current match scores.
